Recipe for growth
I started to wonder how much self awareness is enough? Can a person have too much self awareness? ……I
I’m not crazy! I’m just human.

The answers are inside YOU!
We are all affected by life. Everyone experiences one or more issues at different times in our lives. Grief, loss, or a vast array of addictions. Our careers, education, Legal matters or incarceration. Sometimes it’s physical, verbal or mental abuse, mental illness, or physical illness. Relationships, infidelity and divorce can be challenging. Care taking and parenting are significant responsibilities. Anxiety, depression, or trauma are common struggles. Loneliness, fear, abandonment, recovery, and financial woes are issues many face. We try our best to “Make it work”. We “Deal” with it. We struggle. We keep secrets. We feel guilt and shame. Yet we repeat the same behaviors expecting different results.
Are you ready to control your life? Are you open to learning and using new tools? How great would it be to “push your own buttons”? Instead of allowing other people to push them. I didn’t know that I was trying to get what I wanted in all the wrong ways. I didn’t have to do this alone. With consistent practice using my new tools I changed. I felt much better. My life got better even if the crazy around me was the same as before. Today I know I’LL BE ALRIGHT!
My journey started out wanting to fix/change others, believing I was perfect and I knew best about EVERYTHING. I wanted intimacy, closeness, friendships, validation and appreciation. Life didn’t meet my expectations. It wasn’t until I found strength in community, that I learned to embrace my imperfect humanity.
I listened to others share their experiences and strengths. They shared their hopes too. I learned and practiced new tools. These tools helped me to change my focus inward. I believe my higher power (God) is there to listen and to guide me. He does a much better job than I ever will. I just have to be open to His will not my own. Do I forget sometimes? Absolutely, but I am quickly reminded.
I must USE MY TOOLS daily. I must reach out to someone to share and to listen. I must trust the process and trust God’s plan for me. I CAN NOT do this alone.
